Yes! We Are Open! Please Read This Post

We at LiNiTo Cycle feel fortunate to be considered an essential business during this time. The shop is brimming with bicycles, and we could not be happier at the prospect of servicing our wonderful customers!

The time has come, however, for us to exercise a few restrictions so that we can continue delivering our services while being fair to all customers:

Service is by appointment only. When you call during hours of operation, you will be provided an appointment date and time to confirm. If you do not show up your appointment, you will end up back in the queue to begin the appointment finding process all over. Reason? We make a commitment to hold the appointment for you. If you don’t show up, that was valuable time that was not available for fellow riders. If you get our voicemail when you call, please leave us a message and we will return your call as soon as we possibly can. Please do not call multiple times thinking that we will pick up, or send us a text message thinking that we will respond any sooner.

Walk up service cannot be accepted until further notice. It is not respectful to customers who made their appointment if we have to stop to take a walk up request. Please call us during hours of operation to schedule an appointment. We will make a commitment to hold that date and time to spend time with you on what is happening with your bike and what service is required. Again, if you get our voicemail when you call, please leave us a message and we will return your call as soon as we possibly can. Please do not call multiple times thinking that we will pick up, or send us a text message thinking that we will respond any sooner (sorry for having to repeat this).

Hours of operation remain 10am – 4pm Monday through Friday and 10a – 3p Saturday, Closed on Sunday.
This includes phone calls, which are only taken during hours of operation. Please do not call us after hours as the phone will not be answered. You will not get in any faster if you call us (many times) at 11pm or 5am.

Benefit to appointments. Since you are able to confirm an appointment date and time, you can keep your bike (and possibly keep riding it) until the appointment date. Most service requests take about 3 days to complete, so you can be out and about soon after bringing it in!

As we weather this shelter-in time and practice safe social requirements, we hope everyone is staying safe.

In the past, LiNiTo Cycle has commemorated Memorial Day by donating a portion of bicycle service and parts purchases during the month of May to Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans (MSHV), a non-profit agency that provides housing, supportive services and community outreach to help homeless and at-risk veterans and their families achieve self-sufficiency. It is crucial that they continue to raise funding to support veterans during this time. The MSHV team is helping veterans ‘virtually’ shop for food and every day essentials that can be delivered to their door.

This year, we decided to get a jump start on collecting donations. Starting on Saturday, April 25 thru the end of May a portion of your bicycle service or parts purchases will be added to our donation and LiNiTo Cycle will match the final total. We welcome your additional tips/donations. Thank you for your patronage and joining us over the next several weeks as we salute our veterans, yesterday’s defenders of freedom.

For many, Memorial Day signals the official beginning of summer, but did you know that Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America?

LiNiTo Cycle will commemorate Memorial Day every day during the month of May by donating a portion of all bicycle service or parts purchases to Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans in Wheaton. This is our way of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Our donation to the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans will go toward yesterday’s defenders of freedom; veterans who at one point in his or her life wrote a blank check made payable to “The United States of America,” for an amount of “up to and including my life.”

The Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans is a non-profit agency that provides housing, supportive services and community outreach to help homeless and at-risk veterans and their families achieve self-sufficiency.

Thank you for choosing LiNiTo Cycle and joining us as we salute our veterans!

Merry Christmas from LiNiTo Cycle!

linito-christmasWe want to take a moment to wish our family, friends and customers a happy holiday season and thank you for your continued support and business over the past year!  Whatever your plans are, we hope it includes a chance to relax, recharge and spend time with those close to you.

Looking back on this past year, we had fun bringing you along on our “Where’s LiNiTo?” journey and hope you enjoyed traveling near, and far, with us. Your business and referrals are just part of our success–we also value the friendships we develop along the way.  We enjoy being your local bicycle shop providing low cost, personalized, friendly customer service to you, our valued customers. You are all part of our story, and we appreciate you.

After all the presents are unwrapped, egg nog and cookies are eaten, and you find yourself with a little down time, how about treating yourself to one of the best presents of all…bring your bicycle in for a tune-up and good cleaning before hanging it up or storing it for the winter. You will be happier come that first sunny spring day…when all you want is to go for a ride!

Have a safe and happy holiday! We look forward to servicing you in 2018!

Where’s LiNiTo? – May 8, 2017

Where's Linito?

Yes, we did get out for a couple of rides this past breezy weekend!

For those of you who may have stopped by to see us on what is usually the opening day for the French Market in Villa park, we’re sorry that we missed you 🙁 Due to a lack of full time vendors, the French Market is on haitus this season. Linito Cycle is not taking a break though. We will still be offering free water, air and safety checks on the first Sunday of the month this summer to anyone who stops by the shop between 9 AM and noon. Stop by and say ‘hi’ .

You know where we weren’t this weekend, but keep checking us out here every week to see if you can figure out where we are!

1. Like LiNiTo Cycle on Facebook (if you haven’t already done so)
2. Every Monday, check our Facebook page to see the link to our website with our most recent posting ‘Where’s LiNiTo Cycle?’ .
3. Identify where the picture of the week was taken (hint: most of them will be taken on the trails around the western suburbs–IPP, Great Western, Salt Creek–but you never know!) You should identify the trail and nearest cross street.
4. Add a comment to the posting with your answer.
5. Enter as many times as you want to, but only one winner per household per month! The first person to correctly identify where Linito was will receive the gorgeous LiNiTo Cycle t-shirt! These t-shirts are a great 1st layer when you’re out riding on these chilly winter days, or for wiping the slush off your bike after a ride.

We will continue to post pictures of our travels here and also continue to give our swell t-shirts away, so be sure to check Linito’s Facebook page every Monday and tell us where we’re at.

We’re keeping things very local for a while, so see if you can guess where we are. Good luck to all of you!

Bike the Drive Early Registration is now Open!

BTD 2017

It’s not even the end of January yet, but we are thinking about warm weather bike rides and know that you are too!
Are you interested in participating in a longer, car free, supported bicycle ride? Sign up for Bike the Drive today and join us on Sunday, May 28, 2017 as we kickoff summer riding season! Early sign-up means that you’ll save $ on your registration.

Bike the Drive is not a race. It is a really cool celebration of bike riding. You can start as early as 5:30 AM, as late as 9:00 AM, and choose multiple distances–anywhere from 7 miles to 60 miles (if you start early enough). You will see every kind of bike and every kind of rider, from small kids on bikes with training wheels to racers in training speeding in designated fast lanes, and lots of average riders going at average speed. The best part: 30 miles of uninterrupted Lake Shore Drive. No cars, no intersections, wide roads, and smooth asphalt. There are snacks at the rest stops! Fruit, cookies, mini-muffins! Restrooms! Water!

The event raises money for ActiveTrans which advocates to make bicycling, walking and public transit safe, convenient and fun. Join LiNito Cycle and sign up now at http://www.bikethedrive.org/. See you bright and early on Sunday, May 28 at Bike the Drive!

Just a friendly reminder to all our friends…if your bike needs any work or a tune-up before Bike the Drive, you need to have it in the shop by Monday, May 15th so we can complete the work in time to get your bike back to you before the ride.
